Tonight’s At-Home Bible Devotion is for the…

Tonight’s At-home bible devotion lesson is specifically focused on how what we believe is so important. It is my hope that you will SEE a connection between the “wind” and “doctrine”. No. This is not an an exhaustive study. But I do believe this study can begin the process of opening your eyes to see the tricks of the enemy, and the kinds of blessings you can miss out on. This study has been designed so that those who believe in God’s word must truly hunger for His word to receive. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Tonight is for the hungry and the thirsty. And if that’s you, grab your Bible, notepad and pen now. And join us as a faith community, as we pray, read and respond to the questions below. Let’s discover together. Are you ready? Let’s us pray.

Heavenly Father, We thank You for Your Word. We ask that You bless us tonight, that we all might be anchored in Jesus Christ. This we ask in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Read Matthew 14:22-36

Question 1: What did Peter do when he saw the “contrary winds” blowing?

Question 2: What was Jesus doing when the contrary winds were blowing?

Read Ephesians 4:11-16

Question: Based on Scripture, what is the connection between the the gifts Jesus gave to the church, and what Paul mentioned about the “wind of doctrine”?

Read Galatians 3:1-8

Define the word: “bewitched”. (You can go to google for this one.)

Question: What connections can you draw between Paul’s concern for the church at Galatia and what he said in Ephesians 4:14?

Question: Define the word “steadfast”.

Question: After reading Acts 2:41-47, how we’re the believers blessed after remaining steadfast in the apostles doctrine?

Q: How is that different from what Paul said to the church at Galatia?

Question: What does Psalm 133:1-3 mean for you, for families, for relationships, for marriages, and for churches who remain unified in the apostles doctrine?

Would you like to share how God Blessed you tonight?

Feel free to send a brief summary of your notes to uvcfchurch@gmail.com. If you truly invested yourself in this lesson, you were certainly rewarded. Thanks for participating in tonight’s At-home Bible Devotion. Because of your devotion, you can now see what others cannot see in the spirit. And that makes you stronger, wiser and better. This is what God does for the church when we stay hungry for Him. And now our church is the better for it. United Vision! Let’s celebrate Jesus!

May the Holy Spirit bring all this to your remembrance in season and out of season. And may God’s grace be upon you greater this year to accomplish His purpose in your life, to be blessed and receive His blessings in Jesus’ name.Pastor Mike Reed

Our Kids • Will you pray with us? >>

Matthew 19:14, But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Heavenly Father, We bless Your Holy Name. For You Are The Great I Am. You Are God Almighty. And because there is nothing too hard for You, today we come before Your throne asking and believing by faith for You to move in a powerful way this week in the hearts and minds of our children. Lord, Move in their lives like never before in Jesus’ name. Lord, be their Savior. Snatch them out of darkness. Open their eyes. Cause them to see the light of Jesus this week. Lord, Save their souls from the wickedness of these last days. Lord, Deliver our children from generational shackles of the past and present. Destroy yokes in Jesus’ name. And open their eyes to the enemy’s attempt to draw them back into bondage due to past hurt. Lord, Give us understanding and the power to pull down strongholds this week. Lord, be their Teacher, Protector and their Provider. Lord, heal them and help them. Encourage them and settle them in their hearts in Jesus’ name. Heavenly Father, we rejoice for the child-like expectation that fills their heart, as they anticipate their encounters with Jesus this week. We pray for a faith-filled, spirit-filled, eye-opening, learning experience they will not be able to forget. And now Lord, because we love You and trust You completely, we give You permission to renew the minds of our children. Lord, we ask You to do with them in a moment what we could not do in a lifetime. Lord, You Are Great. You do miracles so great. There is no one else like You. And because our faith is in You Oh God, we give You all praises, all glory and all honor in advance, as we rest in knowing all these things are finished works in Jesus’ name. Amen. #prayingforourkids #uvcfchurch
