Pastor Mike says Thank You!

I would like to take this time to thank the UVCF Church Family, First Lady Sumetra, and everyone who showed their love and kindness toward me on this Sunday.  Thanks for helping me celebrate 39 wonderful years of life. Your gifts and well-wishes truly touched my heart in such a special way. I continue to thank God in my heart for you all.  And I pray God’s best overtakes you in the coming days and weeks ahead.

I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Thanks again for being the special kind of people you are, making this yet another special day to remember.  May God bless you and keep you.

Husbands & Wives: Your Marriage is a Ministry

Marriage Is A Ministry – 1 Peter 3:1-7

In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives.

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.

Husbands

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Week 4: No Bible Study This Wednesday

Although we will not host Reviving Life Study Group this Wednesday, I so encourage you to spend time praying and positioning your hearts in anticipation of this great outpouring which will happen at our first annual, one night revival on Friday, Sept. 11th at 7:30pm CDT.

Mark 1:35-36, Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

Beloved, I exhort you all to be in prayer, meditating on God’s word, and spending some quality time on this Wednesday so God can speak to your spirit.  This is a time for humbling ourselves to hear from God.  This is the time to turn off the television, the radio, the cell phone, the social media, and to get in a quiet place so you can hear the voice of the Lord speaking to you.  If Jesus understood the importance of leaving his disciples temporarily so he could commune with The Father, we too must appreciate how valuable leaving those who may be closest to us momentarily, for the sake of hearing precious words from Our Heavenly Father.

Listen, whatever you do, do not allow “no bible study” to be your excuse for not pursuing your personal relationship with God.  Instead, let it be time well-spent in the God’s presence so you can hear words that will change your life for the better. God has a plan for your life and it is to prosper you. And so on this Wednesday, I hope you will position yourself by faith to hear from God concerning His plan for your life.
