At UVCF Church, our Corporate 21 Day Fast begins tomorrow morning at 6am. Because we are participating in The Daniel Fast, from 6am to 6pm each day, during that time, we are not consuming any physical foods, with the exception of drinking plenty of water throughout the day, which is highly recommended. However, after 6pm, we are able to eat certain foods. What foods may J eat? Good question.
Daniel 10:2-3, In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
As previously stated, what’s pleasant to you may not be pleasant to me. And visa versa. And so when participating in this particular fast, the idea is that we forsake those foods that are “pleasant” or pleasing to us, and we instead spend more time praying and feasting on the word of God to feed our spirit man.
CAUTION: As a word of caution, we do admonish those who are currently under doctor’s care to consult with your physician before participating in this fast and/or committing to any major changes in your diet that may affect you.
Concerning prayer, each day we encourage you to follow along with us, using the daily devotional you received during our service, devoting a portion of your day to reading the scriptures and praying in agreement for God’s blessings each day. With that said, we commend all who have decided to join us corporately in fasting and prayer this month, as we believe God by faith and declare Victory in every area of our lives in 2019. WE HAVE THE VICTORY!
